Why AdiosMyFriend.com?
by Joel Gratcyk | May 24, 2006

This past Sunday night I found out that Antwan Williams, a friend of mine (pictured to the left), had passed away the night before. I hadn’t seen him or heard from him in a while and so for a long time I felt like I just had to find a way to say goodbye. After going to his MySpace page and seeing all the wonderfully deep and sad goodbyes many of his friends left him as comments I knew I had to start a place on the web where others could say goodbye as well. This is that place.

AdiosMyFriend.com is a way for people who have lost someone to say goodbye with a postcard. It could be because of a move, divorce, death, fight or some other event that separated you from a friend. The goodbye could also be to a place or time your miss, it doesn’t have to be a person. You can make your postcards out of any post office acceptable postcard material. If you want to submit more than one goodbye, simply use more postcards. Use one postcard per goodbye. Remember to put your complete goodbye on one side of the postcard. It’s free to send in submissions for inclusion consideration on the site. There are no fees.

Postcard goodbyes don’t have to be because you lost a friend to death, but it can be for any reason. Friends can be lost for a million other reasons. Things like moving, fights, hard times, divorce and broken trust can cause the loss of a friend as well. Here is a safe place to share and say goodbye to those who you wish were still around.
